G52SW Screen Issue

Retired
Not applicable
I have recently become the owner of a new ASUS ROG G53SW laptop. After a few weeks of using this on my lap i have discovered that there is a strange issue with the screen flickering to a Blue tinge when pressure is applied to the top and bottom of the wrist rest. This is more often seen when i pick up and re-adjust the laptop from where it was sitting.
I can easily replicate the issue as shown in the video and occurs more predominately when pressure is applied around the area underneath the touch pad.

I've only had the laptop for less than a month and want to know from an Admin or Asus tech if i should RMA this device and what process should i follow?

Probably the LCD cable needs to be reseated.

Thanks, but thats not entirely helpful. Is this something that i should contact my local ASUS Repair Centre about or can i do it myself?

It would require a disassemble of the unit to get to the motherboard and panel connector. If you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, then you will need a tech.
