guys, recently someone from forums.overclockers.ru managed to overcome throttling temperature of GPU GTX960M on my ASUS G501JW.
(screenshot attached).
Now you can increase the throttling temperature up to 92 degrees (or even remove it), and it remains after the changes in the nvidia inspector. the frequency of the GPU can be also changed (by more than 135 MHz), as well as GPU memory clock and GPU voltage.
As a result, the video card now works much better.
Unigine Valley shows 1200 points with standard GPU settings, and then after unlock and overclocking the chip to 1400 MHz it is already 2000+ points.
But 3DMark 11 shows only 6000 points instead of 5500.
in GTA 5 the increase is noticeable (higher settings, less lag) but only up to the point of the processors' 84 degrees. then graphics settings have little effect, and you just need to move more slowly 🙂 i.e. if before lags mainly appeared in the moments of complicated special effects, now they do mostly at very dynamically changing scenes.
I play on 5000 coolers rpm. on 4000 there is no point in changing or acceleration of throttling temperature. coolers speed can be changed in NoteBook FanControl (NBFC).
didn't test other games yet, but I think in less dynamic games the growth will be even more noticeable.
managed to remove throttling temperature of the CPU as well. but it gave the opposite effect - the GPU gained its temperature again. so this function is of no use for me

Thank you Compwxr for unlocked/modding my bios, really appreciate it! 🙂
Here is ther result of using Nvidia Inspector, now i can slide the temperature the default is 74 degrees but now i change it to 87 degrees 😄
Less lag when playing GTA 5 high setting 1080, even it reach 87 degrees the lag not noticable like before 54-60 fps (i think the clock not decrease too much :D)
But the HwMonitor show the maximum temp at 87 degrees too 😄\
So, even you slide the max limit gpu temp to 90+, your gpu will reach that. Be careful and be wisely! 😄
Thank you kaps26 for sending me NoteBook Fan Control Apps for adjusting speed of fan, really appreciate it 🙂
Here is the result!
When gaming i set it to maximum speed, more cool temp huh 😄
(SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH) XD
