G46VW Flashing battery indicator. Orange/Green

I woke up this morning and found the battery indicator on my G46VW flashing orange then green at a steady pace. I booted it up and the battery was fully charged and I got no error messages from post. I couldn't find what this means via a Google search. The battery was at 9% when i plugged it in.
My specs are:
i5-3210m (stock)
8GB ram (stock)
2x250g samsung 840EVO (one is an Msata)
Windows 8.1/Debian/Windows 10 Preview
Standard everything else.
It is currently a year and a half old (I purchased it Refurbished).

Anyone even know what this means?

Also did anyone ever experience their G46VW shutdown (like total loss of power) during the first charge cycle of the battery? It happened to me twice in the first charge/discharge cycle and never happened again. My guess was a battery break-in issue (called ASUS about it they didn't really have an answer for me).

I'm not sure what it means, but thought I would just run some of my crazy theories by you if you're interested.

According to the G64VW English User Manual E7386 on page 22, it mentions you should charge the notebook for '6 hours before using it in battery mode for the first time', so wondering if this could be why you saw the shutdown problem during the first charge although you were charging the notebook instead of using battery power, so it isn't exactly the same thing.
It's not something I've seen or heard of myself though.

Also, the user manual on page 14 mentions the battery light will blink orange when less than 10% and be solid orange when the battery power is less than 95% (and more than 9%?), so wondering if you were just transitioning from the solid orange battery light to the blinking orange battery light and the appearing green is just a side affect.
It may not really be worth worrying about too much, but you may want to keep an eye on the battery light when your battery is around 10% charge again to see if that blinking pattern always happens although I'm wondering if the notebook needs to be off and at a certain battery charge where it is just about to go from 10% to 9%.

Well, hopefully someone else has better ideas if this doesn't make sense.

The blinking around 10% is normal as I have experienced this multiple times ( I rarely drop the battery that low.) I plugged it in when i got home from a long day and when i woke up found it in that state. When I opened it after I unplugged it (didn't know what was going on) it showed a full 100% charge. So it mixing the 10% state up doesn't really make sense to me... 😕 It was a thought, if I get it to drop low again I'll be sure to check for it.
The refurbished Laptops (from newegg anyway) don't come with any documentation (and the manual didn't want to download for me)...
While Googleing this if found that the old G53's (if i remember correctly) had an issue where they would lose power from the charger and get it and loose it causing a flashing orange/green light if the battery was full. But that same problem coincided with other power issues (eg no charger detected at all most of the time). I wonder if the battery is just starting go on me and it detected a problem while charging. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few day and see if it happens again. I will be sure to video it if it does. Any other thoughts??

I have a G53SW and have replaced the battery. The power/charging light flashes green-orange at various times. I usually just remove the battery for 15 seconds then re install and the light stays solid green.
I had a problem with the keyboard lighting and had to uninstall then re install the ATK package which fixed the problem. I wonder if the alternate blinking of orange and green might be some sort of driver issue.

I have the SAME problem. Did you find a satisfactory explanation?

I think it's not a battery-related problem directly, as i had the same problem with 2 different batteries on the same system.
