I was working outside on my car a couple hours ago and using my laptop
and all of a sudden my fans went to full speed. I checked all the common things that make the fans ramp up this high and nothing seemed off. The only thing I noticed was my RPM meter claimed they were at 22500RPM. If the BIOS can't read the fan speed does it force both fans to run at full speed? This happens the minute the laptop is turned off so it's def a hardware failure or issue. I am wondering if I can figure out which fan is failing to report it's RPM and replace it. Thanks for any answers. Ordered a few fans anyways just in case!
