G46 laptop broken light thingy?

I'm talking about the 6 lights beneath the touchpad. The first one (from the left) is always on, but the 3rd one keeps "beeping" and making a strange noise while doing so. Is it broken? Anyone else experience this?

That is the Hard drive activity LED I believe. It blinks whenever the hard drive is accessed and the fast blinking is completely normal.

it is HDD light, are you sure the beeping sound from there? also could you try other HDD?

the noise isn't very loud. I can describe it as a "hrrr" that appear only when the light is on. could you pls verify this?

If you are using Razer Game booster, I don't know why, but it makes the HDD read every second like a clock. I have no possible Idea why have they did this as it has nothing to do with HHDs. Anyway if you have it try uninstalling it and check. Another thing that can cause blinking like this is IRST driver a.k.a. Intel Rapid Storage Technology. I have not seen any improvement by it, so I don't have it, but on my previous laptop it was causing blinking as well.

P.S. The beeping sound or whatever you call it is from the HDD head reading from the disk itself, so there is no problem.
