Yeah this really sux. While i do follow the forums, I missed this 'offer'. One would think that because I had my laptop registered with Asus from the day I bought it, that someone would have sent me an email about it. 😞 I would hope that they did and I just missed it, but there has got to be a large population out there that has this laptop and doesn't follow these forums.
So with the G751-JT, anyone know if it was just a processor upgrade or Processor/MB upgrade. I'd like to know so I can check around to see if any computer stores here has the proper CPU that I might be able to purchase and get them to replace it.

Hi Brighttail.
The upgrade requires hardware upgrade (MB, CPU and GPU), software and firmware upgrade. The CPU and GPU are soldered on the MB so it isn't possible to manually upgrade either.
The petition was started on forum and we only advertised this through our forum because it was a public effort that allowed the company to realize a lot of people really wanted this, however ASUS had no obligations to do this. I personally feel that the company went above and beyond to answer to this call but you have to realize that the $99 + shipping doesn't even cover the cost of the parts, it only covers the labor. Not only that, the older CPUs are already long out of stock and no longer manufactured by the CPU suppliers that's why it took so long to push the suppliers to help supply us with the CPUs, it was a very long and painful process.
There was never a plan to advertise this through newsletter notice and we didn't even advertise it through any other channels other than the forum. It would never been possible to offer this to every person that owned a G751 because there aren't enough parts and CPUs to make that possible. This was strictly offered to those who participated in the ROG community and follow the news on the forum, because that was the only way you would have found out about this or if you had a friend that found out about this and told you. Of course we'll have people that complain that it wasn't fair because they didn't know about it, however since it wasn't possible to offer this to everyone so we decided this was the fairest way and we gave ample time (6 months) for people to find out about this.
