Help this thread

I've done what was suggested in that thread before - with my N61JA.
Basically you use AMI's own tools to open up the BIOS files and search for sequential bits (00 or 01) that correspond to which menu items in the BIOS are enabled. There's usually around 8-12 options for menus, some are diabled for us because we don't use the functionality in those menus. There are no options that would help with our issue in there, I'm afraid.

I tried looking for anything other GPU/G-SYNC related but could not find anything relevant.

They missed the part where you actually have to look at the EFI code tree to figure out what sequence the menus are in, though, before you start mucking about with finding which menus are enabled/disabled.

Here's a good guide:
http://www.win-raid.com/t18f16-Guide-Manual-AMI-UEFI-BIOS-Modding.html

It's not the one I used but it seems similar enough.
Again, the problem is not finding the stuff to change, it's knowing what you're looking for.
I very seriously doubt we can make this work with just a BIOS mod.

If it wasn't so hard to pull the CMOS battery out of the G751 I'd be all over this. It was fine for me N61 because it was already 3yo old and beaten up and I knew how to get to the battery easy if I'd bricked it 😕

Maybe one day ASUS G-series machines can come with CMOS reset switches 😛

All the information is in the vga BIOS video. Bios motherboard is the same at all, so only the video card BIOS influences G-Sync enabled. We have one from an owner of the Asus G-Sync. I tried a few member forum, but they have refused. BIOS can save in GPU-Z utility computer. Maybe you have friends who will help us.

how does the leaked driver enable G-Sync?,I'm not talking about G-tools,just the original leak, are we saying the driver changes the card bios?,if so how does it do it and how does it change the bios back when you install another driver?

It didn't touch the BIOS at all, it changed around some temporary registry keys and changed one of the core driver files to enable it.

long time ago i have changed the 13d8 to 1618 for jt 970 in bios...but guru gamenab and prema say that that have no affect of gsync and when flashed the screen can go blank...what youre think?

Well we should get all together and make a "Kickstarter" project on one of those bios mod sites, donating a small amount each like 10-15 dollars/euro in order to have one of those bios/driver gurus mod them so they work with G-Sync.
When you think it, there must be like hundreds of pissed off G751JY/JT ovners who could theoretically contribute, so that would amount to a fair reward that is bound to attract someone with skills in that department 😜

Currently using 208 Bios. I try to install leaked driver, not G-Tools. It works. So what is inside the nvlddmkm.sy_? I think that gamenab and prema say that that have no affect of gsync that change the 13d8 to 1618 for jt 970 in bios is true. Maybe just this small file will enable the G-Sync? nvlddmkm.sy_?

I did a quick search about this file (nvlddmkm.sys) but no actual info on how to open, edit or mod it 😞

Btw, i wrote to Asus about the possibility of buying a G-Sync licence for G751. I've included the Nvidia chat I had some time ago where I asked them for this possibility and they told me to contact Asus directly about it.
Asus responded that my request was forwaded to the appropriate office and to wait for a response. Of course, no response yet, and somehow I doubt they will. What a sad way to treat their costumers 😐
