From 60Hz to 75Hz.. And back to 60Hz again?! (nvidia driver update)

I just updated to the newest nvidia driver and now my refresh rate is back to 60Hz as standard again..

It makes no sense at all, since they add'd a update a few months back that raised it from 60Hz to 75Hz

Anyone else who experienced this ?

i have no idea whats going on, but new driver was removed from nvidia's site.

n/m
found this:

WHQL driver v347.88 got a known bug ... see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/819148/geforce-drivers/official-nvidia-347-88-whql-driver-f... ... and so v347.90 is/might be the "new 347.88" release 😉
"...
Known issue note: This release has a known bug that affects Optimus and Hybrid-based systems, preventing the "manage updates" button in the NVIDIA Control Panel from working correctly. This will be fixed in a subsequent driver update planned for next week.

That seems like a pretty thin excuse to pull the first new driver in months that allows for overclocking the 980m/970m/880m(?)/? 🙂

And, Nvidia is still recommending and allowing download of 347.88 from the Nvidia site:

I don't even remember a Manage Updates button in the Nvidia Control Panel, it seems more like something in the GeForce Experience realm, what does it do?

If it is a bug in the Bundled GeForce Experience, then don't install that part, just install the driver and physx if it's newer than yours - do a Custom > Clean Install checkbox and only check the driver and physx.

My GeForce Experience updated itself a couple of times recently, it's at 2.4.0.9 - and it takes care of it's own updates independent of the driver releases.

And, Nvidia doesn't have a 347.90 showing in that list, and google doesn't turn up any 347.90 download reference on nvidia.com, and the one link it does turn up seems to be missing, clicking it takes you to the top of the main forum.

Mysterious 🙂

I wouldn't worry about using 347.88, I have been running it since release on my G750JH, and lots of people on lots of boards say it is OC'ing and performing better than any previous Nvidia release... install it and benchmark to check for yourself 🙂

Hi All,
Like to know what is the last Nvidia driver that has 75Hz(Default) Before 347.88(60Hz Default)..
i like to downgrade the driver. The 347.88 is having issues in some of my games..

Thanks,

dapogz717, as kingjezdi says you can set a custom resolution/refresh, and set it to 60hz too 🙂

What's wrong with 350.12?, or something in between?

im having a small issue when playing planetside 2(same graphics settings).. i already tried adjusting the nvidia refresh settings, but FPS doesn't go above 60 anymore (even on vSync off/on)
i usually play this on 75fps or more.. making far off object more smooth, until the 347.88 update.. i think i'll stick with 347.52 for the meantime, since this is the only game i play for now. 😄

Thanks,
