Fresh Install of Windows on G46VW

Hello Guys,

I have an Asus G46VW. I wanted to do a fresh install of Windows on my laptop. A fresh install or do a refresh from the recovery partition. Also afterwards I want to start with a clean HDD and create a new partition and dual boot with Ubuntu 14.04.

So, I am not familiar with anything related to a recovery partition. So some can please advice me on whether I should do a clean install or do a recovery operation? And also please give me instructions how to do the actual operation?

Also I would like to retain the ROG logo at startup. 🙂

Please note that I got the laptop with windows 8 and had since upgraded to 8.1.
Also I am looking for some one to spell out the steps for me (assume I know very little about anything).

I would recommend that you Clean Install win 8.1 with update.
Download the latest proven good drivers for your notebook from Asus Support Download Download your drivers and have them ready to go on flash drive. Be sure to get the 8.1 drivers any hardware that isn't in the 8.1 section will be in the 8 section.
