Fourth of screen darker than the other

So it seems my LCD panel is acting strange but when I turned it on yesterday I noticed the top part of the screen is darker than the bottom. I rebooted and went into the EFI to see if it was driver/software but it persisted there too.

So I've tried different drivers and also loading into Linux but no matter what it seems to persist.

Below is an example of what I am seeing:

I'm at a loss here and I've tried anything I can think of, anyone have any ideas?

It might be a bad panel.

I've seen this resolve itself before.

Cycle your brightness and try looping one of those stuck pixel videos on full screen :

Been running various utilities all morning long (+3 hrs), don't think I am going to get lucky on the issue going away.

Oh well it is what it is.......

If you are still within (or close to) your retailer's exchange/return period, you can consider exchanging your laptop for a new one.

Emailed tech support included the picture and received a response telling me to go ahead and set up the RMA so I don't see why people keep complaining about Asus' support.

Only thing that is going to suck is not having the laptop during the shipping and the actual repair, other than that I'd say support from Asus is pretty awesome.
