Fixing broken keyboard on G750 (2 questions)

1) Is it possible to just buy the keyboard cable instead of buying the whole keyboard plate?

2) Is it possible to apply something like aluminium duck tape (or any other that is electrically conductive) and connect a part of it to the cable ribbon and the other one to the motherboard. Would that be working or is each pin on the ribbon made for a special place on the connector on motherboard?

Thanks for help.

.. I don't exactly understand what you're asking.

You want some sort of miracle tape as an extension for the keyboard ribbon, or a replacement..? If so, both aren't possible.

The ribbon I believe is like a uhh.. 'speech bubble' it's all one thing with a tail on the end, (connecting to the motherboard)

If you have problems with the keyboard's ribbon, you can get scissors and cut it back 5mm / 1cm and strip back the coating on one side, then seat it back inside of the motherboard's keyboard terminal.

Anyhow, as far as I'm aware, no..

You must buy a whole new deck, that includes keyboard, power button, trackpad and the aluminium surface itself. It's all one thing.

The deck usually sells for around $100.

Hope this helps. :c

Yeah I did try cutting it and I just completely destroyed it ( That was few months ago when I first did it)

I just bought a replacement keyboard and installed it. Even though I broke the latches on motherboard I connected it using little plastic to jam it and then I used some paper duck tape to make sure it sticks in place.

I just bought a replacement keyboard and installed it.
And my keyboard is without backlight, but I don't know how about your keyboard.
Maybe you can contact them to check it: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/100-New-and-Original-Laptop-keyboard-for-Asus-G750-BR-Brazil...

That keyboard can't work in a G750.

IT can and it does. I am using it right now.
