Fingerprints? Why not coat the G750 with a thin layer of mineral oil to prevent this?

Hmm. I was just thinking, why not coat the G750 with a thin layer of mineral oil to prevent fingerprints from standing out? Since it wants to absorb oil, give it what it wants. Mineral oil will not mold and one careful application would take much less time than trying to remove fingerprints and worrying about how clean your hands are. Brilliant or stupid? Can anyone think of any possible problems this might create?

I have searched for stick-on covers but couldn't find any for the latest iterations of the G750.

I also ordered this keyboard protector.

...and this laptop skin.

...while I'm waiting for my G750JZ-XS72 to arrive (Friday and hopefully not Monday). Very excity!

Oil to computer = bad idea. Remember that oil can absorb vast amounts of heat, therefore it wouldn't be dissipating it.

TruthWalker, over the long term oil on plastic can cause stress relief fractures and crazing on the surface, which over time will lead to failure of components under physical load. You don't want to do this 🙂

Although, taken 1 step, or 10 further, you could do this, which looks fun 🙂

Cool your PC by submerging it in oil

I would imagine Wifi, BT, and wireless keyboards would be problematic with Oil Submersion Cooling.

Side benefit, No Fingerprints!! 🙂

Takes me about 30secs to clean the outside of my G750 daily, I use screen cleaning fluid and a microfibre cloth.
