Hay, Asus! Any comments???
I've got the same issue with no answer given!

No one wants to block the usb drive for factory reset settings to be used in future and dont know how far we will keep it in pendrive or usb drive. So dvd option is best to store factory reset settings for future use.............................................so suggest the software which can be used to store factory reset settings in dvd disk.....................???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Unfortunately, ASUS Backtracker currently only backs up to USB drives right now, so if you want to back up to DVDs, you will need to find a different program (to back up the entire hard drive image?).

If anyone didn't see it and is interested, there is a sticky thread about ASUS Backtracker here:

I've seen that thread. There are only declaration of things we know.
Only USB-stick backup... No DVD backup... So on...
The question was rised after Pitcher@asus replay (second in this thread) about DVD.

This issue is not fatal, but just not convenient.
Anyway - I made my USB-flash backup (and successfuly restore).

And... I'm just wondering... Why the biggest files (from that backup) have approximately same size about 4gb each. And summ of all others - less than 4,2gb (all of them). I am very intrigued by this coincidence. Is that means there is the (secret???) way to build set of DVD to restore factory defaults from it?

...brilliant! Great solution from world manufacturer and state of art laptop seller.
Instead add a simple function to the software that already exists. My applause!
