Elantech touchpad: Right + Left click doesn't work

This is very common problem and till yet unresolved. The Elantech driver disables right button + left button touchpad click. In the result you cannot aim and shoot in games also you cannot code that kind of interaction in your applications.

Driver detects LMB+RMB click but it somehow filters it so there is no effect -> it is disabled.

I could not find correct entry in the registry to disable that obviously horrible setting.

I have a huge problem with ElanTech touchpad. Without the ElanTech driver both the keys can be used at the same time(R+L). This is usefull in games like Mafia2 (can't play without it). When I install their driver I get the gestures, scrolling etc. but I can't use both keys at the same time. It is a common problem.

Please notice:


1. It has nothing to do with the Windows or hardware but only with the Elantech driver settings.
2. Driver detects LMB+RMB click -> it is shown on a dynamic icon on a task bar also uninstalling drivers fix the problem, but then you can't use your touchpad fully.



Has anyone have any luck with this or can we bring this to asus?

Does this happen with more drivers ? I am not experiencing this kind of problem and I haven't since I bought the laptop. I would suggest downloading the latest drivers from ASUS. Check all download areas to get the latest ones.

Going to have to check those drivers out, same issue on my G751JT, went into AC4 and found I couldn't fire an aimed broadside lol

i don't really understand what you're talking about, do you mean clicking left & right a the same time ?
if it's that, i've test it on IE11 and assign the simultaneous click in SWTOR and that work in this two cases.
it work like the scroll Wheel button (mouse button 3).

Yes, namely first taking aim with RMB, then when you try to click LMB nothing happens.

Seems this is nothing new and nothing has been figured out or done about it aside from uninstalling the asus driver.

Come on Asus, Granted a touchpad isn't how you should be playing an FPS but this is a Gaming Laptop, an expensive one at that and this is still an issue? What gives?

Yes this does not solve the problem at all im not sure why the drivers are like this Ive tried lenevo and dell drivers for elantech they all behave the same way
It would be nice if asus would release a custom driver or give us the option to turn off the option for you can use fps games with the touchpad its got lots of room
this is one of the very best laptops ive ever used and its a shame to see that asus cant see a problem with this elan crap 😞

Having the same problem on my g750JS. I agree with Setoku, this is not something you'd expect from these laptops.
