Durability of G750JH?

Any ideas on how durable this amazing machine is?

Ie. Pressure on closed screen, dropped, etc. Assume SSD and fan is only moving part (empty drive).

Hi Dorrulf,

I actually dropped my backpack with my laptop in it, about a month into ownership. I use an Oakely Kitchen Sink, with a shell rain jacket on the bottom. I was getting out of my car in the garage and the strap slipped from my grasp, hitting the concrete a couple feet over. The only indication of damage is the lower left part of the laptop is a bit uneven and the CD tray is barely out of line.

I routinely carry my laptop on a bus and train, with the backup usually stuff. The screen hasn't seem to have had any issues with this, even when laying on it's back when put in a rack on the bus. I usually slide the laptop in with the CD tray up, so I think I end up having the screen facing into the pack, where I have a small bag for cables and another sturdy case for external drive + thumbsticks. I live in Seattle and the rain hasn't has any affect on it yet either in 6 months of ownership. I don't walk with an umbrella, instead using the shell rain jacket stowed away.

I hope this helps, though its not a full accounting of everything you're looking for.

Actually that's a pretty good account and I appreciate it. It does give me some insight thanks 🙂

I dropped my JH a week ago, without any casing and it was powered on, well I tripped over the power cable(you know what I mean). It fell around 2-3 feet. I checked the casing, no evident damage, I also ran a disk check to see if my HDD was damaged, I in fact ran it 4-5 time in 3 days and it would seem nothing was damaged.

Maybe I was lucky, I don't know, usually the HDD gets damaged when it's spinning just because of a small bump.
I wouldn't get my hopes up, the laptop in fact wasn't made to be carried around a lot, not to mention that it wasn't constructed to endure bumps 😄

Btw, nearly got a heart attack when it fell -.-"

Hope I could help
