I dropped my JH a week ago, without any casing and it was powered on, well I tripped over the power cable(you know what I mean). It fell around 2-3 feet. I checked the casing, no evident damage, I also ran a disk check to see if my HDD was damaged, I in fact ran it 4-5 time in 3 days and it would seem nothing was damaged.
Maybe I was lucky, I don't know, usually the HDD gets damaged when it's spinning just because of a small bump.
I wouldn't get my hopes up, the laptop in fact wasn't made to be carried around a lot, not to mention that it wasn't constructed to endure bumps
😄Btw, nearly got a heart attack when it fell -.-"
Hope I could help
