Does the G74 fit

In the G73 backpack? In the notebook slot, also does anyone have any input/concerns on the quality, padding, size, etc. of the bag? I was looking at the "shuttle backpack" as well but it says right on the site that a 17.3 will ONLY fit in the main compartment not the notebook sleeve. Plus the "shuttle backpack" is $109 compared to the G73 bag's $65

The only other one that i found that i am sure it will fit into is this

But i don't want to defile it with the Alienware/Dell logo 😛

I've read through the other threads and i SPECIFICALLY want a backpack, that's not HUGE like the Targus XL but will fit snugly IN THE LAPTOP SLEEVE.

get this even thought it says 16" but it fits mine and also it has a build-in battery of 3000 mAh in case you need to charge your phone or any other electronic device

Thanks for the link, i'll look into that as a last resort, I don't want to pay that much for a backpack to be honest, and I typically don't need a "backup battery" on the road.

I got that G73 backpack for my G74 and yes, it does fit very well. Snug enough that the notebook doesn't slosh around. Plus there is plenty of room for things: I've got two mice in there, my external HDD, AC adaptor and plug, extra cords, usb keys, a spare battery, and a couple of books and papers too.

This is the one I've got: http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=894

Is this the one you're thinking about?

Yep that's the one. Thanks, too bad it shows out of stock on the website. Guess I'll have to call them up and see if/when they're gonna be getting more in.

Why not just get a Targus XL backpack? It's less than $50, holds more stuff, has a lifetime warranty, and is always in stock.

The targus is huge though isn't it? I don't want something that's going to be super cumbersome.

It is definitely one of the biggest laptop backpacks out there. The ASUS backpack is actually just a rebranded Targus bag with less capacity. It's really a matter of personal preference but the Targus XL gives you the ability to carry around more stuff.

Well, i wound up finding a messenger bag (another targus go figure, seems they're the only laptop case/bag manufacturere without their heads up their arses) on sale at Best Buy for $34. I can't find it on their website though (best buy's) here's a link to the bag on the walmart site. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Targus-17-CityGear-Miami-Messenger-Notebook-Case-Black-Grey-TCG200/3356833...

The only concern i have is fitting the power supply and other crap i carry with me on the road, I'll let ya know how it turns out.

Based on this thread I ordered the rolling version of the Targus XL for my G74. A monster bag for a monster laptop.
