DIstorted sound on right headphone

Hi all,

I've been using the G751 for some weeks now and had no problems so far.
I am using a Beyerdynamics headphone since I started using the G751 and also had no problem using it.

But since today I am experiencing distorted sounds on the right headphone. Of course I've tried the headphone on another device and had no problems there.

I tried rebooting, reseting audio settings, changing audio quality. Nothing helped so far.

Does anyone have an idea what else I can try or do you think the soundcard / audio out port have been damaged?

kind regards

Wildzorn, that's odd, did anything else change? Driver update, Microsoft Update, check your installed updates through Programs and Features, View Installed Updates on left side of dialog, and sort by Date to see what was most recently installed. Also sort Program installs by Date to see if any new program update / install might be the culprit.

It is unusual for the headphone hardware to go out. I don't think I have heard of one that was working and then stopped. Most are out of the box problems with wiring to the headphone jack.

How about through the speakers, any new distortion in the Right speaker?

Thanks for the fast reply.

There have been no new updates or programs in the past few days.

The distortion is only hearable on headphones and only on loudness > 40.
There is no distortion using the regular G751 speakers.

Wildzorn, did you play with the AudioWizard settings? Try turning off the AudioWizard, and then try changing the settings for the headphone - you can use the Equalizer to isolate the frequency range that is hosting the distortion.

You can have 3 presets for headphones, they are small, medium, and large headphones - settings can be unique for each one.
