Different touchpad hardware in G74SX-A1's?

Just curious... I see many people with G74SX-A1's posting about the Sentelic touchpad drivers. I have the latest Synaptics driver installed and Windows seemed to think prior to that that I was using a Synaptics touchpad. Just for fun I removed the drivers and tried to install the Sentelic Driver and it said it was not supported on my system...

So are there different touchpad hardware installed in the same model G74sx-A1's?? :confused:
