The system will not charge a battery if it's over 95%. This protects the unit from overstressing the battery and extends its life. It's normal operation, and perfectly healthy.

I hesitate to ask, but on my G73Jh-A1 it usually goes to 90 + %, but sometimes it goes to 100%, Also if I run it down to 40 %, unplug all external devices and charger, leave it sit turned off (not inhibernation or sleep) for 24 hours, the battery goes down below 10%. Hwinfo say wear level 10 %. Asus had me recalibrate but this did not help. Thanks, J

Maybe the battery needs to be replaced then.

Thanks Chastity, Asus did send me new battery. The one they sent appears new, but when it gets to around 15% remaining it drops to zero, and of course the machine abruptly shuts down. I have had the computer less than 1 year (11 months) and ASUS wants me to pay to ship this defective battery back! I will call support and see how that goes today.

At least with the original battery I could run it down to less than 10 % and I could do a normal shutdown at that point..
