I am trying to install a 120 gb intel ssd on my new G74 but the laptop wont detect the ssd when trying to install windows. I tried to change to ide and ahci in the bios but still nothing. I can see the sdd in the bios but it doesnt show up when installing windows. I removed the ssd and tried it on my desktop and it works fine. Any help would be really appreciated.
boot into bios, go to the last screen and select "set user default". hit save, reboot enter into the bios again, do the same thing, go to the last page, select "set user default", save reboot.
on my G51 i had the same problem when trying to install a second hard drive. it would show up in bios, then not be present in the OS, go back to the bios and it'd be gone. heard it was just a bug in the bios. hope this helps.
I have ASUS G53SX-NH71 first drive is Crucial M4 128 GB SSD 6 GB/S second drive is Seagate Momentus XT SATA 3 3GB/S CHIPSET SANDY BRIDGE HM65 INTEL
