Cant figure out the KB fix....

With the keyboard fix, i cant seem which file to put on my bootable disk. Of course you probably know this but inside fold i DL was :

ATK package_1.0.0008.zip
g73jhAS.213.zip
g73jwAS205.zip
synaptics_touchpad_15.2.11.zip
synaptics_touchpad_15.2.11.1-full.exe

Do I unzip the whole folder on to the bootable flashdrive which would put zip files on it or do I unzip each and every file on there? Either way, then what command do i run to run the fix? I had all the files on there and ran one of the zip files, just typed in what the file was called, but it didnt work. I cant seem to find a tutorial on it here like I did when I updated the BIOS to 213.

Trying to fix my KB lights by the way.

Well I had already seen that video but was still concerned about removing that keyboard because after they remove it, they mention straightening out, fixing and resealing part of it. But actually once you see how it comes off, there is nothing to it. I took mine off, reversed the way my ribbon was entered and VOILA, I now have KB lights! Sweet, very nice. thank you both! Although I dont have any lights for the three buttons in the top left, but I dont care about them unless there is a simple fix for it.

I know have my BIOS, vBIOS and KB lights done. GUess I will now look at some of the other drivers recommended on the sticky page. THX AGAIN!

Glad to hear that , IF you press the first button on the left, does it do anyhing? IT should toggle between all off, all on, lightbar on , and light bar off. and these should be shown on the screen. IF you open task manager and look at process tab do you have ATKosd32.exe running? (you should ) If you do not have this process and are running windows 7 64 bit I would try removing the ATK package, reboot and install ATK 1.0.0008

does this fix also work on G75? It seems my backlit keyboard automagically stopped working... ughh

Thanks to Gary for this one.

I've been messing around with this fix for a day or so to get it to work, but finally got there.

Most of my issues were around getting a workable USB storage and disabling ALL other boot options, this finally worked.

Major differences in my PC

- KB lights now flash at start up
- Fn+ F3/F4 now shows the lights up/down display. Before all other Fn's would show the action on screen but not for KB

Thanks a million, I picked this PC up for a steal as the KB lights didn't work!
