🙂 That is rare, usually you have to slow down the burn to improve reliability, but it looks like the mappings for the lower speeds aren't compatible for that disc. 8x is probably worth a try too.
Let us know what drive you end up replacing the stock drive.
You might look at a USB 3.0 external burner, that way you can move it around and save the laptop hacking.
