Can i upgrade my LED 60Hz to a LED 3D 120Hz screen? Asus G750JH

Greetings everyone!

I recently bought this amazing ASUS and I am really happy with it. I love every aspect, except one.
I was disappointed with only one component, the screen.
Unfortunately i could not obtain the LED 3D 120Hz screen version. I simply could not find it for sale.
My version brought a LED 60Hz screen and it was the most expensive i could find. So my question is:
Is it possible for me to buy a 120Hz 3D screen compatible with this laptop and replace it myself?
Will it work and provide the desired effect? My priority is the 120Hz, the 3D effect is a non required bonus.
If it is indeed possible, do i need to replace anything else besides the screen (like the connector cable for instance)?
I would really appreciate support on this question!

Thanks in advance!

No.

The 120Hz 3D screen requires integrated mini displayport instead of the LVDS/FPD-Link that's on the normal laptops.

The only option you have is to replace the screen with a better 60Hz LCD model.

Please note that unless this is done by an approved ASUS reseller/repair center you are in danger of voiding your warranty.

Wait ... What ? Does the 3D model have the Displayport on the right side?

The connection for the 120 hz Display is allready on the mainboard.... the Connector isnt soldered in ...
i could solder that one in without problems...

Are there any Components missing on the Mainboard?

Can u guys at least give us hints what is missing for 3d Support ?
I mean ... some of us, including me, bought the G750JH without 3D because the 3D model was not avaliable ...

An 3D upgrade offer would be nice too... i believe there would be many people who would buy an upgrade if you dont charge 400usd for it ...
Or at least the Parts which are recquired for 3D (lid w. Screen & ir sensor, Cable, Connector & what else is missing on the mainboard)

I think anyone who want to upgrade his g750 is aware of loosing Warranty...

btw ... i still do not understand how you could release a top of the line Model with Features like 3D or 2x Raid0 SSD missing...

Sorry for my bad Englisch

It requires different components on the motherboard. You'd need to replace the entire board.

Did you even read the post ?

You did not even answer the easy Question ... (the first one)

What we know:
1. Non-3d models don't have a connector soldered on the "3d" slot on the mobo
2. We could theoretically solder a connector there

What we don't know:
1. Is there another component missing from the non-3d mobo?

I highly doubt you'll get an answer to the latter. Additionally, it's beyond silly to risk self-soldering on an expensive machine like this for something that's arguably a not-so-useful gimmick.

you cannot upgrade a non 3D screen to a 3D one. The last time the ASUS Service center in Dubai tried to do that on my G7VW they ended up frying the motherboard and gave me the laptop you see in my sig as a free compensation
