Calling all ROG G701VI Owners.

Im looking at replacing my G752VY. Probably going to give this to my son. My question is, how are your displays in general and do you like them?

The screen in the G752VY is one of the best things I like about this laptop (great blacks and vibrant color), but have heard of other problems with black levels, back bleed, and what not in the newer models and reviews. Do you guys have any issues with yours?

Im asking because I am contemplating going for an Acer Predator laptop instead, which has a 4k G-Sync screen for the same price. While I prefer the aesthetics of the Asus laptop, I really want to try and hold on to the top quality display of the G752 in a replacement, and not sure if the G701 has that. I really wish Asus would also put a 4k screen in the G701 instead of only having it in the GX800 which can go for anywhere from $4,000-$6,000. That's in the same insanely priced territory of the Acer Preadator 21X. Laptops are just not worth that much of a price tag for me.

Any info much appreciated.
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

Hmm. No replies huh. I have a few more months, but Im leaning more towards the Acer the more I look at the reviews of the G701 comparing the two. 😕

Been with Asus products since the P2L (440LX Chipset mobo) and P2B (440BX Chipset). I even had a Pentium Pro Asus board but cant remember the model. Lately though in the Laptop department they seem to be charging more for less. I wont accept back light bleed on something that costs right under $3k.

I allready have it and would send it back if i could
Fails.
Only nvme m2 ports *2
No cd drive
And fans run high

Tho it Really Kicks Ass with preformance i would upgrade pne of the smaller models with 1070 instead
But thats just my 2 cents
