Buying a new G750 laptop

Hello !

First of all, I'm new to this forum, so if this post isn't in the good section, I'm sorry.
Second, excuse me for my english, I'm french but the french forum isn't really active.

So, my problem is that I'm planning to buy a new laptop (yeah, a ROG one) but I don't know which of them.
After some research, 3 laptop got my attention:

- the ASUS ROG G750JH-T4109H,
- the ASUS ROG G750JH-T4071H,
- the ASUS ROG G750JH-T4138H.


I've got some questions which will help me to choose.

1) What do you think about these laptops ?

2) What are the differences between these 3 laptops ? (except the HDD) Which of theme is the best ?

3) Is there better ROG laptops around this price ?

4) Will ASUS ROG release new laptops in the upcoming months ? I don't know as it's been a long time I didn't follow the "ROG" news.

I know the G750JH has SHOULD have a i7-4700HQ processor, 24 gigs of RAM, and a gtx 780M graphics processor.


The RoG G750JH is the highest model you can get so as long as you see that is has 4700HQ, 24gigs of RAM, and a 780M you'll be fine.

Maybe some dont have the Assassins Creed theme? So im not sure about the extra numbers "T4.....".

Anyways as long as you get the included parts I talked about inside it you cant really go wrong.

Well billyray, maybe, I don't know.
So here are the settings of the laptops I mentionned.

Intel® Core™ i7-4700HQ (2,4 GHz / 3,4 GHz Turbo)
17,3" Full HD LED
RAM 16 Go
HDD: 1,5 Go (2 x 750 Go)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M (4 Go)
Blu-ray
Windows 8 64 bits

The three laptops have these settings (one of them has a 750 GO HDD)

So I think it will be fine.

But do you think ASUS ROG will release new laptops in the upcoming months ?

Unlikely in the next few months. Generally updates come with new CPU or GPU gens. Haswell's successor, Broadwell, likely won't come until late 2014. So you can probably expect new G laptops with the nvidia 8xxM series. The desktop 800 series should come out in Q1 2014, mobile may or may not arrive then, and of course it takes time to build/test/distribute.

These are of course speculations, and based on roadmaps which can change. Should help you a bit in making up your mind though.

It's your money, you should decide. For what it's worth, I do think it's a good idea, but you should make up your own mind based on your needs/budget/timetable/etc.

Just one last question:

I'm not buying this laptop to use Paint, I want to PLAY ! 😛

So I would like to know with which settings I would run (with around 50/60 FPS) BF4, Arma III, Crysis 3 and COD: Ghost (for example) with the laptop I chose ?
