Bricked G55VW after bios save with original bios file not in C but pendrive.

Hi all.

My g55vw stopped working after saving changes in bios settings a few months ago. I have read the previous posts about this issue but i hadnt had time until now to try to fix it.
I happen to own the full .bin bios file, but it is not located in c:/. I tried the ctrl home pwr button with the bios file in different pendrives, which resulted in wasted time :(.
My c:/ drive is a msata ssd, so i have to disassemble the entire laptop if i want to plug it somewhere else, and that is why I am typing this, I would like to know if someone has already tried to copy the full .bin file in c:/ with sucessful results.

Obviously there is no chance to get a rma. It's got more than 2 years.

Thanks in advance for your time  .

without that .bin file on the root of your hard drive Ctlr _ Home is not going to work.

So... formatting C and copying then the bin file should work? :D. I'll just try it.

Why format just copy the file to the root of the drive. I don't know this but seems something about a lunix boot disk might let you copy the file? I don't know anything about Lunix but I've seen here where people have used it to get file off a crashed drive. I don't see you doing it while its still in the machine. you'll have to connect it USB on another computer to copy the file in. Hmm you know it might work if you put it on the hard drive. The the BIOS might not recognize the M2 add in drive as being the OS drive? Since they came from the factory with the 2.5" hard drive that might be were Ezflash will look for the G55VW .bin file, that's worth trying anyway and its easy to get to.

Well, I've taken out the msata ssd and copied the bin file into the 2,5" hdd. I then tried to do the ctrl home power thing with only that hdd plugged. Nothing happened :(. I had already ordered a new bios chip. I suppose i'll have to wait for it since i can't reprogram the bios chip. Thanks for your help so far :D.

I think I would still put that file on the msata and give it a shot. that BIOS Chip is soldered on. I have seen post here and on Notebook Review forum but its not easy.

I would like to do so, bit i just cant plug the msata drive anywhere else 😞

I had my new bios chip soldered today, resulting in just an even worse scenario. Charging light is the only vital sign it gives, it won't power up. When i press the power button the charging light blinks and nothing more :(. Furthermore, my p67 asus deluxe is also giving me problems with my ram. I think i'll just never even dare to touch something coming from asus again.

Na there all the same, when the die they die. Maybe Intel made better board, but no longer
