Hi folks:
Booting from the optical drive has always been touch and go.
Right now I hold down the and hit power on, or restart, the PC.
After what seems like too long, at least 30 seconds, a blue text window (Drawn with text and not Windows) pops up and I select my optical drive, which has a recovery CD.
A second or two later the following text pops up:
Press any key to boot from CD or DVD
Periods are displayed, like a count down.
I immediately hit the and other keys.
The system then displays a slowly rotating circle of dots and Windows pops up, for me to log in.
I've tried different things, including different recover CDs.
As stated, sometimes boots from the recovery CD are effortless, other times it's like this.
Suggestions?
Thanks
Larry
