Hello All,
I am trying to update my bios from 206 to 303 but it doesn't work.
I tried with both #WinFlash and directly in the Bios: the process of updating starts normally, then the computer restarts,I am asked to hit any key to continue and this is where I keep getting an error message saying the upgrade can't proceed - looks like the current ID systems info can't be gathered. I suspect the reason sits somewhere with the fact that I replaced my motherboard from N551VW (original) to G551VW after a component related to the graphic processor die
In the Bios as well as in my Windows 10 pro, I can see all the normal details about my Bios (Megatrend, version 206 etc.). The issue arises only when initiating the Bios update process.
I checked options to create a bootable USB flash drive formatted FAT32, I have the G551VWAS.303 bios file and AFUDOS.EXE but am not sure whether I should "force" an update that shortcuts standard procedure - I don't want to end up with a bricked laptop (as I wouldn't know how to revert and fix it all).
