Best Buy Asus G751J

Yesterday I bought the Asus G751J from Best Buy seeing as how I needed a work computer as well as a gaming computer I can bring to a friend's house to play games or do dungeons etc. Picked it up today and brought it back home. Turned the power on and IMMEDIATELY saw a flickering screen. Very bad flickering that's not a software issue, but a hardware issue. I will be returning it today, not even gonna bother to RMA it. The screen flickering was so bad I had to make an account here in Asus just to rant about this horrible first experience... This is just a warning to anyone who is looking to buy this model, doesn't have to be from Best Buy. Just beware of the hardware that's being used and if you do purchase one, I do hope your first start-up and continual experiences, are better than mine. Thank you for reading.

SpikeB, sorry to hear that, but it does happen. And, you did the right thing, taking it back to the seller right away. Did you get a replacement from Best Buy?

I saw your other post, that you got a G751JM model from BestBuy, it's been said that some have a touch screen and some don't. It doesn't matter now as the screen in yours was defective.

The G751JM is the only G751 with Optimus - so it is a no sale for me - I was considering it as an inexpensive backup - but I will hold out for a G751JT/JY without Optimus and with an IPS screen / non-touch screen.

You might want to wait for BestBuy to get the G751JT in stock, it should only be $100-150 more, and you get a 970m, an IPS screen, and no Optimus.

I have the same model from BB and have not had problems with the screen flickering....yet....

Sorry yours did and I hope mine does not develop it
