Asus live update/intel turboboost question

Hey everyone, Asus live update seems to be useless, so I went to the asus support site and downloaded all the updates manually. However the intel turbo boost updates tell me I don't meet the minimum requirements (because of 64bit OS.)

Is there a way to lock the processor on 2.8 GHz?

I'm playing SSBB with Dolphin but that doesn't trigger the Intel auto turbo-boost and results in a laggy game.Funny thing is, when I turn on another heavy application turbo-boost kicks in and the game runs smooth.Ideas any1?Chastity?
