Backtracker question, do i have to back up also ASUS driver/application (2nd option)

Hello

I have just tried to create a factory image with backtracker. Now that the backup factory has finished, do i have to back up also ASUS driver/application (second option in backtracker)?
If yes i have to use the same usb? Also is it normal that the process of creating back up factory image was around 15mins?

Hi Protervis,
No, not really, that option is only if you plan on performing a "Clean install" of Windows
That option will copy the "Asus eDrive" which contains all the drivers, and utilities installers that are located in the Asus Support folder on your C/OS drive. (will save time on downloading all the driver installer)
Then after you install Windows, you can pick, and chose what to install.
If you don't want to install all the "Bloatware", then you can chose not too.
The Backtracker Recovery USB will install everything back to the factory out of the box condition, bloatware and all.
(Everything that's contained on the Asus eDrive will be reinstalled)

Yes thank you GottiBoi55. At the moment my laptop has 1,5 TB 7200 rpm and I am planing to get a SSD (haven't decided yet so any suggestions would be appreciated). I have read that when i do the restore with backtracker i must remove the 2nd HDD and have only the SSD in slot 1. I just dont understand how my drives will be divided when i remove one of my 750GB drives and replace it with the SSD and if the 2nd drive will be recognised after i have done the restore.

Yes, would be best to remove second HDD, and place the new SSD where the OS drive was installed
(leave SSD un-formatted, Backtracker will format the SSD)
If you leave second HDD in, the backtracker software will re-format that drive. (any data on that drive will be removed)
Once Backtracker has restored to the SSD, then shutdown windows, remove the power adapter, and battery and then install the second HDD back in it's bay.
Now start windows, and let windows install the data HDD, then restart windows twice.
You should be good to go!
