Asus site has wrong wifi drivers? Azurewave vs. Atheros?

Hi guys,

You know most of the drivers on Asus support page are barely outdated but since the first day i remember the drivers for Wifi (eg: for my G53JW) are published as "Azurewave" rather than Atheros. G73/53 series have Atheros chipset AFAIK and G53JW has Ar9285. You may see that some Azurewave wifi drivers are published with no correct versioning:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G53JW&p=3&s=282

Where can i find Atheros AR9285 wifi drivers with no connectitivy issue plus no DPC. I have some issues related to Wifi card like freeze, high DPC as i guess but no connectivity problem.

Can anyone lead me to find correct and stable Atheros AR9285 driver?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, the wireless network adapter seems wrong on Asus support and download page. G53 and 73 series have Atheros, not Azurewave.

I'm currently using 8.0.0.316 which is stock one and causes random DPC latencies that causes lots of problems. I'm looking a fully stable and high-performance driver for my Atheros AR9285. Please help?!! 😞

Find the drivers here! http://www.atheros.cz
this is where i got all my atheros card drivers updated..

yes the page looks like it was made in Frontpage in 1997 but all the drivers are here!

for your card this is the link. http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=37&system=5

Thanks a lot fakunchas for your reply. I know Atheros.cz but i was unsure about the compatibility of drivers there. You also know that; the latest driver is not always better and i tend to use stable one even it's old.

So, what driver version do you recommend for AR9285?

Which driver are you using without DPC latencies, lags with high-performance wireless networking (with no disconnection)? I just want to know stable and correct driver (9.x.x or 10.x.x.x ) ?... version based on your or others' experiences.

Thanks a lot!

i have a g74, with the latest drivers (the same for your card BTW) and no issues whatsoever!
At home i have a TPlink router. It connects with the a/b/g/n standard perfectly.
if you have some sort of latency i would sugest a clean install WITHOUT ANY ASUS CRAPWARE! only ATK and Wireless Console. I got fed up of having a sluggish machine in the first hour i bought it..
