I got my G75VW from the local TigerDirect
I would go with the 3D Model, if you can afford it!
There's three models with 256GB SDDs

PS: Welcome to ROG!

Well if you want an "extreme" G75 Laptop, you can go to xoticpc.com
They will customize with an "extreme cpu"
Also will add up to 32GB of memory if you like.

I would stay with Win7, if I was you for the OS.

PS: So if you can afford the price, that would be the site to get what you want!

Got my G55 (with a Thunderbolt port) from xoticpc. Had them put better thermal compound on the CPU and GPU. Also got them to install 32GB of ram.

I didn't know that the msata port wasn't easy to get to, so if I did, I would have had them put a SSD in there for me.

It did take a while to get it from them (about a month), but due to the holidays, it was understandable.

I would suggest you find a model at a local shop and check it out in person first. From there, buy it from somewhere that will actually let you return it without a restocking fee, just in case there is an issue or it simply doesnt meet your needs/expectations. There probably are not alot of online retailers that allow that, I know Amazon and TD do not. If you had a Microcenter (USA) close by or a Frys they would be good places to at least see what you're buying before you actually pull the trigger. There are so many different models of this laptop its not even immediately obvious what can be included on it. Examples would be Thunderbolt, a 120hz screen vs 60hz, 2 HD's vs 1 HD, SSD vs HD, GTX 670m vs GTX 660m (or 670mx on the VX model). Not to mention Windows 7 vs 8.
