After purchasing one of these laptops i decided to invest in an St Lab 5.1/7.1 sound box (usb) to connect with a Logitech z906 surrond sound system.
I've set it up and still can't get the rear speakers to function this way. When applying the amplifiers built in "virtual surround" I can get it to work decently but the way i see it, it should work without it.
As far as i can tell the realtek audio manager is set to stereo by default and I can't change this setting, is there a way to bypass this?
On a sidenote, changing sound format (bit rate etc) complete disables all sound until a forced cmd shutdown is tasked... why?
