Asus ROG G501VW availability?

Araq

Hello,

I noticed this "new?" version of the Asus G501 (G501VW) on the Asus official global site (Only site where I could find it), but im having a hard time finding any kind of topics or discussion about it on the internet. So im wondering is this some kind of To-be released version that has not hit the market or even the "reviewers" yet?

I listed the specs (taken from ASUS) and the link to the G501VW "promo" page
https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-G501VW/

From what I could gather, its getting a few nice updates to the chipset and memory but unfortunately the GPU remains the same.

In case this is some kind of special-order version, that has been around for long and im just too bad to find the right information about it, feel free to point it out..

Im looking for an upgrade to my old ASUS (G55VW) and I like the G501 (solid build, good specs etc.) The GPU is the only thing that is imo only "decent"

What are your thoughts about this "new" version and does anyone have more information about it? And are there any rumors of new upcoming 15inch G-series laptops? (mainly with upgraded GPU)

Just bought G501VW last week. Battery life is good (almost 5-6 hours for just surfing the net). It's G501VW-FI054T
(15.6-inch UHD Intel Core i7-6700HQ/12GB/1GB+128GB SSD/4GB GTX960M/Windows 10)

It's the Philippines variant of G501VW. It's expensive of course lol. It costs around $2,000 if you convert it from our currency.
