ASUS model codes… please explain

Looking on the net there are a lot of different models for the G75VW and some are very similar and looks like warranty differences, drive and ram config or bundles etc but what do the letters mean eg: G75VW-DS72, G75VW-TS72, G75VW-AS71, G75VW-RS72, G75VW-BBK5 or G75VW-T1013V as I know BB is the best buys edition but what’s with DS, TS, AS or RS?

As far as I can tell, the 71, 72, 73 refers to the graphics card (71 being 660, 72 being 670, 73 being 3D).

As for the letters, I believe AS is the Amazon model, BB is the Best Buy model, DS is the default config, and RS is possibly for resellers? Not sure what TS stands for.

Ts is tiger directs model.
Rs is just the default reduced price( less warrenty/no mouse or backpack) it is part of asus defaults.

a heads up stores won't get the DS72 until mid may same thing with the ds73. so ask the company if its in-stock. and try and ask multiple people form the company.

I want to get the asus g75vw just wanted to make sure of something BB is best buy model TS tiger direct model.

my question is what it means buy model do they modify it or something, or its just they change the laters when they get it in there store?

It's also worth noting, when shopping for an Asus, that different retailer configurations also vary in the kind/length of free manufacturer warranty coverage they carry. (I suspect this is because Asus & some retailers....those that sell their own in-house warranty programs.....negotiate deals to limit manufacturer coverage. This presumably helps Best Buy, for example, sell their own warranty extensions.)
