Hi everyone!
I have a problem with the left side usbs on my G75.
They work fine with USB Flash drives, mouses but I can't open my WD external hard drive (the right usbs CAN)
Has someone got an idea how to fix them?
Thanks in advance.

What type of USB HDD? If it is a 2.5", make sure that they have enough power (most likely true), and that you aren't using USB 3.0 with USB3.0 (I've only had problems with that).
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

It's 2,5" ...... I didn't understand "make sure you aren't using USB 3.0 with USB 3.0"

Your hard drive enclosure may be drawing to much power for the port

Zygo meant: Don't plug the drive into a USB 3.0 port if it is USB 2.0. 🙂

This sounds like a mA issue with those particular ports. USB 3.0 can output more power than USB 2.0 if I recall correctly.

We customize Asus, MSI, and Clevo laptops!

The drive is 3.0 and the usbs are 3.0

Any ideas?

You seem to have a hardware issue, If you don' t want to RMA or return to Vendor if your in return period? suggest you get a Right Hand USB 3.0 Extender cable and a USB 3.0 Hub. Run your External drives from the right side ports. I have good luck with the link devices I can run up to 3 2.5" external hard drives at the same time and a USB 3.0 thumb drive. Seem is I try 4 external drives I have problems with dropping off with all 4. I'm sure this is a Power to the port problem. With USB 3.0 Maximum power from the port is required to the Hub for full power. The Right hand forward port has extra power going to it for Charging Cell Phone, Tablets etc. That's the one I use for my external drives.

Yes it seems several people have had problem with the left side ports, some have RMA and had them solve by replacement of the ports. I my self have found the left side port reliable only for USB 2.0 devices however with only 1 external drive connected over there no problems most of the time.

I forgot to say that when I set bios to defaut settings whey had worked for a day.
The next day they stopped.
HMM I tried now and they WORK.
Is it a hardware problem?

I don't want extra cables or hubs
