Asus G75VX Lag Spikes + Programs not responding.

Hello everyone,

I recently just got my ASUS G75VX-RH71-CA from NCIX online store, but I have been facing some issues lately. Whenever I run high demanding games such as Far Cry 3 and Skyrim, I always get this mini lag spike every now and then which bothers me.

Does anyone have the solution to this? I haven't downloaded any drivers from the internet, and also I used the CD that came with the laptop. Sometimes when I play minecraft with my friends, it just randomly stops working and says that program not responding.

I am also using Windows 8 if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

If you get a Asus G75VX Lag Spikes or a power surge I always buy a surge protectors, because I had a lighting strike close to our home and all our electronic are protected against power surge. However my father HP laptop computer wasn't protected against power surge when our first lighting strike came close to our home, and it blew my father laptop computer lucky the house wasn't on fire so we had to get a new computer for my father and I bought him a Crest Double Outlet with Surge Protection to protect his new laptop and a new printer.

Surge protector is great it can protect all electronic up to $75,000 10 year product and connected equipment warranty, and it safer than been sorry when all you're electronic can cost you a sh#t load of money.

PS. I've got mind as well to protect my new computer.

I don't think that is much of a problem right now, but thanks for suggesting. 🙂

Could you check task manager disk usage while playing? I have been experiencing a similar problem last week. The disk usage is 99% and transfer rates are very low (100% is 1 MB/s at times). When game starts loading content frame drops to unacceptable levels. Also other programs tend to freeze when accessing hard drive.

My disk usage is about 18MB/s which is about 12% of my disk usage. My memory usage goes up to like 1GB, but I have 12GBs of RAM so i think that is fine. My CPU usage minimum would be like 25% and maximum I guess 35%?

Never mind that CPU usage it went up until 65%...

All the parameters seem fine on your computer. I managed to fix my problem with uninstalling a few windows updates and reinstalling manually newest drivers for everything i could find (i do not know which one did it because i tried like 50 things). I ran DPC Latency checker, had some spikes, it said some driver was not behaving nice and it seems it was so. I will consider going back to Win7 because it seems Win8 is not mature (read patched) enough.
