ASUS G75vx -HDMI .4a

I was trying to find an answer to this question or a thread connected to this issue but with no luck. If there is a dedicated thread or something please close this and point me to the answer.

So is the HDMI port on ASUS G75VX- 1.4a- I'm sure that on vw models is not but as the vx model has gtx 670mx- according to the specs of the GPU here it should be- however I couldn't find any confirmation on that on the notebook specs. I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying an 2560x1440 (or 1600p) monitor. Monitor I'm interested in has models that can be connected (to get the maximum res) only with a dual-dvi or either dual-dvi /hdmi 1.4 a... I know there are adapters for thunderbolt/mini dp port to dual-dvi, but I also know that it will only work with a power/active one (these usually have an USB and mini DP cables). Problem is that such adapters cost 100$+ so HDMI 1.4a would be perfect choice as it should support up to 3840x2160. So can anyone confirm this? Or am I stuck with getting an expensive converter first ?

Just checked it out and over HDMI on the VX I got here it ran 3840×2160 just fine. However I will say that GPU has not even close the power needed to drive it for anything more then firefox. Heck that display at max res even brings my Sager with 2 GTX 680's to its knee's. I use it for with my desktop and even that take a hard hit. But I don't game at that res. I only got it because I got a good deal on it.

Just a heads up if you get it get a really nice cable cheap ones tend to suck and hardly work. Also don't expect to run games maxed or even on the higher side at 2560x1440 or higher.

I was informed that the VW had 1.4a so I would imagine the VX does as well.

Thanks ! to both of you +rep. I'm not planing to run games(though I will try ) in that res, it's mainly for work (I'm graphic /multimedial designer). And I've seen some sweet deals on ebay on some Korean 27" 30 " s-ips monitors- so. Thanks once again for quick replies. Consider this solved.
