I've been having issues with my ASUS G75VW-TS72 notebook recently. Since about last week it has been shutting down even when the battery is almost half full. I tried removing the battery, cleaning the contacts and also cleaning the contacts of the battery compartment, holding the power button for 30 seconds to remove the static charge of the battery, turning the notebook back on and waiting for the boot process to finish and then putting the battery back in. I let it charge to full capacity, and then I leave the notebook on so that the battery can drain completely. It never does because the notebook turns off when the battery reaches around 40%, and it won't stay on when I turn it back on. Once it gets to the lock screen, it shuts off. The only way it will stay on is if I have the charger plugged in. Any suggestions? I've had the notebook for almost 2 years and I upgraded it from Windows 7 64-bit Pro to WIndows 8.1 64-bit Pro. The warranty is void and I don't want to send the notebook in for repairs.
