Asus g75vw rh71 setting up my astros with it

I just got the astros a40 and I really want to use the 7.1 sound I know the headsets jack doubles as a optical port I already have the toslink to 3.5mm but I don't know how set it up after that do I have to download something I would really want step by step instruction.

The G75 only has a 3.5 jack. Not getting 7.1 out of that system sorry.

You're both wrong, it's already been confirmed long ago that the G75 can do both 5.1 and 7.1 through SPDIF using a toslink adapter. The headphone jack doubles as a optical output.

thx you clearing up the confusing now im ask how to set it up cause I remembered you had to do something in the settings to properly use it

Did you get the a40's with the mix amp? Id so then the mix amp provides the 7.1 through USB. If you go tthe newer "pc version" without the mix amp then you wont be able to get 7.1...

If you have the A40 with the MIXAMP PRO the 5.1 and 7.1 it’s going to be done by the MIXAMP but only for movies with DD5.1. Sadly the G75 doesn’t have DDL (Dolby Digital Live) so your games will be just stereo. Sorry for my English.

The problem is not with the Astros it’s the G75 motherboard it doesn’t have DDL. Use the A40's with a game if you don’t like how they sound send them back. Do you have the MIXAMP?
