Asus G75VW-BBK5 and Minecraft

Alright, i just bought the ASUS G75VW-BBK5. It has a downgraded web-cam, 8g of 1600 ram, a 1tb hard drive at 5400 RPM and a 660m. As I was out of town, i downloaded a quick and small game to test it out on, Minecraft. However, I noticed that Minecraft would work for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before freezing up. When I alt tabbed I noticed that my Nvidia GPU Checker showed the card not even running. This happened every time my Minecraft crashed. Being home, i added a 750g hybrid solid state alongsie the 5400 rpm and reinstalled the operating system. All other games work fine EXCEPT Minecraft, how do you fix this?

im not sure about that one, i will test it for you on mine when i get home, but depending if you actually play the game, i wouldnt worry about it much, i never really saw the draw to it, but from what my brother tells me, the game is rife with issues just like the one youre describing. especially when a new vid card comes out... aka the 670m, or 660m in your case.

if all else fails, you could probably play it on your toaster  jk

Lol you need to upgrade to 64-BIT JAVA. Thats the problem its not the video card or anything like that. I hope this helps.
