Any news about G55VW replacement?
Since we already have a 17" replacement for the G75VW 😄
4.7KG for a 17" isnt exactly ideal to carry around 😐

Apparently there will be no such thing as a "G550" model. I've asked around and people say the only G series now are the 750's.
I find that to be very weird, I really don't think that is a smart move.

Come on Asus, and bring us G550:
G55vw chassis and cooling system +
Core i7 4700 or 4702
Geforce GTX 765M or 770M
And possibly also Matte IPS/*VA screen and SSD options?

17" is too big for many while 14" is too small.
I know many people (including me) consider 15" as the perfect balance of mobility and screen estate.

Currently only options in 15" class with Geforce GTX 7 are Clevo/MSI which have much weaker&noisier cooling systems than ASUS.

Current technology, of the high caliber you are talking about, needs physical volume to do a good job cooling. 15"/14"/13" is too small - when I run such small machines I have to put them up on Dixie Cups to enhance cooling otherwise they "burn up" under my normal use.

There is a reason why the Alienware, Asus, MSI machines that have the best performance are so huge, they need the space to fit the cooling and diffuse the heat.

17" is the optimal size for now.

Get some exercise, get a 17" + a couple of spare batteries, heft and tote that 17" around like you love it
