Asus G750JM "y" key clip is broken Issue

The "y" key clip is broken on one side will Asus send me a replacement key or will I have to ship my entire notebook out to them? It was recently purchased and don't want to deal with shipping it out and etc.

You could take the scissor out and replace it with another key on the keyboard, like something from the number pad if you don't regularly use it. I'd take it from the / key. ;d

To answer your question, you could ask for another scissor from them to be shipped to you and to replace it yourself. But I assume yes, your entire unit might have to go.

I am able to order a replacement key off eBay or other various sites so why wouldn't they be able to send me a replacement key? And no I am not going to replace it with a different key that's not ideal to me.

I am going to have to rma it which makes me very nervous, I had to send in my g46vw and it came back fixed but they obviously didn't handle it very well. Anyway I can get it to somebody who will handle it with care? All i need is for the keyboard to be replaced. Also the "7" key is also loose so this seems like the best option for me down the road. Any suggestions?

Do you have any update on this? Did you send it in?
