ASUS G750 Notebook Unboxing + Basic test drive

Ermelious

Hi guys just wanna share an unboxing and a basic test drive with those who are considering this beast. 😄

PROS:
Aesthetic
Dual Ventilation
Battery Life (3-4 hours on normal usage with WiFi and 10% brightness)
Backlit Keyboard
Decent sound quality (Headphones)
Price = MSI GE 60 2OE GTX 675m (At my place their both selling at 2.2k)

CONS:
Decent speakers with subwoofer but vibrates and shakes the components (or could be distortion) when above 50% volume making very noticeable annoying metallic screeches. not sure whether is it a faulty unit or it applies to all G750 units but this is dissapointing nonetheless unless there is a solution.

That speaker issue doesn't seem to be very normal. Audio quality does suffer at maximum volume but there are no loose components that rattle..

I have a slight buzz from the keyboard area when there is some more bass. I think tightening the screw underneath should fix it.

Hi Flea0, by maximum volume do you mean above 70%?

Hi LLothar, I think that is the issue I'm facing. Have you tried tightening the screws? Please do tell me which screw to tighten if you attempt it 😄

I have the same problem 4 days after I purchased the G750 I noticed the distortion opened a service request since then the laptop has been to the lab twice and the problem still exists, we pay 2000EURO and get this 2$ distorting mini subwoofer.

this is a complete joke!

where's the asus support about this issue?

IMHO the base speaker on the G750 is pretty much useless.........

Side Note:

It's real slow logging into these forums! I get 50 down and 10 up. lol

I bought my G750JM 3 days ago and this buzz sound from subwoofer driving me crazy, I hear it most of the times when I raise the volume from 50%.
I tried to decrease the internal subwoofer volume to 0, it's OK in that case but without the sub, front speakers doesn't have that much quality and power. I also installed the latest version of the Realtek driver, nothing changed ! Somtimes the sub go off and after a while back again !!!!

I can return my laptop within 14 days, but I'm not sure if I do it and get the replacement , the problem will be solved, otherwise replacing take about 10 days for me as I bought it from an e-store from another country.
