Update: the "vbios" in asus live update utility contains the intel driver from asus too. Not sure if it actually contains a vbios, but it reverted my new drivers from intel site to the old ****ty ones from asus.

Ok so i have:
vBIOS - 2179.0
Current driver - 10.18.10.3496 ( Intel reports this is the latest )
The one installed by the utility - 10.18.10.something ( The one on the asus website )
Quick way to tell if you have one or another: Right click on your desktop and if your intel icons are:
a) White rectangles with the intel logo inside them - you have the ones from Asus
b) Blue, smaller rectangles, kinda like the stickers on the laptops ( with intel inside ) - you have the intel drivers

Does anyone know what the new vbois update actually did?
I just downloaded it, and so far nothings different. Thought maybe it was something that would help with thermals, so I rendered a movie, and still hit 100c with throttling. So apparently nothing to do with thermals?

HomieOC, when you chat with Support, you don't get actual Engineers right of the bat 🙂
You need to file a Technical Inquiry, and then get through the first Tier of support, maybe a couple of people, and then if you persist, and have a well stated question / problem to get answered, you will get someone with technical knowledge to answer your questions.
That is how technical support works these days. The first Tier people are handling the incoming requests and answering and doing the simple things that can be scripted in a response script.
Be nice to them, and ask them how to get in touch with the right person to answer your question. Help them through this as it is a scripted world for them, you have to help them work off script to get what you need.
The only person that likely knows that answer is an Engineer who should have done a better job of writing release notes, but didn't. You can ask for better release notes, but it is going to take some effort to get through to that group, manager, and person.
Also, after reading the exchange you had with them, you confused them on the difference between BIOS and vBIOS.
You have to be careful to not confuse the first level support, as they are the ones directing your questions to the right people to answer.
You have to be extremely clear, especially since for many of them, English is not what they best understand and think in.
Your success depends on helping them understand so that your question makes it through to the next level of support.
Let us know how that works out for you 🙂
