HomieOC, it takes a long time for those fans to clog from dust in a normally safe for human habitation environment. I wouldn't worry about pulling the G750 apart for fan cleaning during the life of use. It isn't going to be a problem. I pulled apart my G2S, and W90Vp-X1 and both had clean fans, after a couple of years of use.

If you are worried about dust in a particular environment, you can cover the intakes with a fine mesh and wipe away the dust from the outside, before the dust makes it in to the laptop.

but wont covering the intake with a mesh effect the airflow and causes heat to acumulate? ?

Mocronin, the idea of a mesh or filter is to stop the dust particles, but to let the air flow. Common sense tells you to fix the size of the mesh such that it doesn't impede air-flow.

As long as you select the mesh of a size large enough to allow clean air flow, but small enough of a mesh to stop dust particles, it will have the desired effect - keep dust out but allow cooling to continue.

And, be sure and wipe the mesh/filter off regularly to keep it from clogging. Take care of it and it will keep the dust out and keep the laptop cool.

I didn't need to put a mesh on the intake of my G2s, or W90, and I didn't put one on the G750 either. I don't feel a need to put an extra filter on, as I don't keep the laptop in a dusty environment.

Here is an example of a commercial filter, but you can make your own and tape it on.

Wow, I'm glad this topic came up, I'm looking into this very thing and posted a topic about it not too long before this one. xD

I wonder if those filters would work out on the G750, they seem a little thick to me. Still, it's a good point that dust accumulation will be affected by how you treat the laptop - putting it only on hard, clear surfaces.

Scionyde, they also do custom filters to your spec:

If you look at the installed photo, that laptop's feet are shorter than the G750JH, so it would work on a JH, but my memory of the JW/JX isn't fresh, you might compare the foot on your G750 against the one in the picture to get an idea if the clearance will be enough.

You could also get the mesh from them, or elsewhere, and tape it on yourself - that should work.
