Asus G74SX with a 7.1 Headset?

Hey guys, I just found some headphones on Amazon for only $100. They're the Logtech G930 and they're 7.1 but I watched a video review on YouTube and the guy said don't bother buying them if your computer doesn't support 7.1. So I googled my laptop and saw that it said 5.0, so should I bother getting these? I know they're virtual surround sound so will they work as well as they could given that my card is only 5.0?

I have Turtle Beach X11s now and they sound good but I want something wireless. This wire will be the death of me. Thanks for any info guys.

If you want a real 7.1 surround sound, you should buy a real headset with the physical speakers (not emulated like the most of the headsets) in each ear and an external soundcard.

Agreed. Emulated is garbage unless it's specifically tuned to your ears and how you yourself process sound. There's only one product I know of (on a consumer level) that does that. I love it, but thanks to that, I'm putting a ton more wear and tear on my Ultimate Ears phones since I'm using them at home as well as on the road. Not exactly cheap to replace either.

Do you use the Razer headset yourself? If yes, how do you like it for long gaming sessions?

Will this headset work properly with my ASUS G74sx, I don't have the 3D vision model, just standard 2D here. Id actually be kinda interested in upgrading the sound card, not sure I could manage it on my own though.
