So I did this for the G75. I do not understand why it will void warranty. It's in fact extremly simple. Much simple than one might think at first sight. I was a little bit worried. There should be some void warranty stickers for important stuff (for example removing the MB itself maybe, even it's the only way to repaste. But just to change RAM and WiFi card, it should be fine. Even those ribbons snap into pace quite easy.

Asus also did a great job with the A-B-C screws marks. There is no way not to know where every single screw goes.

As a down side, there is little room to take out the fans for cleaning without removings the screen. In on laptop after only one month, there is quite a bit of dust. In my country damage done by dust over component falls outside warranty. I've said it before, there is no way to clean G55 and even with G75, a proper cleaning means taking the fans out.

it is good for people who want to disassembly / teardown, but i think asus only agree disassembly / teardown to change hdd and ram, others will lossing warranty, ofcouse if you don't might warranty or oow.

Nice topic for a sticky.

I think that re-pasting CPU and GPU should be considered as procedure that does not void warranty. Also change of the default RAM sticks.

I do not have official service in my country I think, but also why do I need to reply on services if there is something that I can do on my own.

Mayeb something to be considered in the future models of the G series.

A good reason for opening one's computer consists in changing the fans, which are often cheap and noisy crap. Replacing them with high-end fans produced by epmPapst or Noctua results in both better cooling and lower noise.

It is a pity that manufacturers do not do this right away, because heat and noise are two major annoyances with mobile computers, but at least they should it make as easy as possible to upgrade the fans, instead of insisting on absurd policies that void the warranty in case of such a reasonable upgrade that fosters both performance and longevity of the device.
