My Kaspersky anti-virus software license is coming up for renewal and I would like to consider effective, but less-expensive alternatives. What are your preferences?

I use Avast! Anti-virus, but I also use McAfee's Stinger, which targets and remove Trojans. You should use Stinger once a week, maybe twice a month. It helps.

I use ESET. I've probably tried all of them except for Microsoft's own.
Asus G74SX-TZ226V:
Standard Setup: Intel i7 2670QM, GEFORCE GTX 560M 3Gb, 8Gb Ram, 750Gb Harddrive, BD/DVD-RW.
Future Setup: Kingston 16Gb Ram, Kingston HyperX 120Gb SSD, Seagate Momentus XT SSH 750Gb.

MSE is very good, if you want to browse some risky man stuff, do it in a VM with a Linux :cool:
